Naminé hurried through the streets of Twilight Town, the real Twilight Town, heading towards the mansion in the woods. The time had come; Sora had awakened. She need to check on him, make sure he was alright. After a year in suspended animation, Sora would finally come back into the light. She had a lot to explain to him.
She accidently bumped into a young brunette, whom she recognized from DiZ's program to be Olette, one of Roxas' friends. She apologized for bumping into her and headed off once more, running down the street with her while sandals clacking against the stone.
Naminé thought about how Roxas had been so happy in the world he had known for the last several months. How he'd been so comfortable there, not knowing that everything had been fake, digital. She wondered if he would have been better off staying there. He was back with the Organization now, his future uncertain. Would he be labeled a traitor for leaving? Or would he be allowed back, on conditions of some sort.
She quickened her pace and hurried through the hole in the wall that lead to the mansion.

Sora's head was throbbing with pain; he forced his fingers through his thick brown hair to rub it a bit. Unsticking his cheek from the white, immaculately clean floor, he lifted up a bit. Behind him was a great... egg? Some sort of pod? He wasn't quite sure. Steam was still issuing from around it, but only for a moment; soon the machine closed itself up. It reminded Sora of the way a flower folded it's petals when preparing for a long, hard winter. He lifted himself onto his knees, and immediately noticed how visible they were. He gasped and examined the rest of his outfit. He wondered if they had shrunk or something; it made him slightly uncomfortable to be showing off so much leg. So, what was that? Sora took in his surroundings, but the white was nearly blinding to his throbbing head. Instead he examined his memories. Let's see... Sora remembered closing the door... and the King had helped. Riku was stuck, though, so when Kairi showed up, he couldn't reach her... he had to stay, to help Riku. Remembering this was so painful to Sora he had to stop; That memory of Kairi was too fresh, seperating from her too hard. But then there was another memory... It was so fuzzy he wondered if it was a memory at all. But he remembered, or felt he remembered, more people. Friends of his... he couldn't remember their names, or their faces. And then there was a blonde girl... Sora dismissed these thoughts. They couldn't be real. Just a dream or something. He took a step toward the doorway, but suddenly he heard the clack of shoes approaching. No, not shoes. For some reason, he thought they were sandals.

Naminé made her way through the mansion, making sure to keep herself as quiet as possible, even though she had been running for a while now and was getting short of breath. She would have made it easier on herself and opened a shadow portal right near where she knew Sora would likely be, but she didn't want to risk DiZ finding out that she was back. If he found her...
...well, she didn't know what he'd do, but it probably wouldn't be anything she liked.
She turned a corner and went up to the door to the room she was certain that Sora was in. She didn't open it yet, as she had paused to catch her breath. Once she had it, she stood up straight and put her hand on the knob to open the door...

The door swung open, and Sora found himself face to face with a shockingly pretty blonde girl. Her hair swung around her head and down one shoulder in golden waves. Her skin was very pale, though her face was fulshed with red; he figured she must have been running. It was her eyes, though, that struck him most strongly. They were a bright, crystal clear blue that shone the same way Kairi's had. He felt a leap in his stomach as he stared into them. The girl was slightly shorter than Sora, and was wearing a white dress that matched the rest of the room perfectly. She was like some apparition--a spirit or ghost. Or maybe an angel. Finally Sora managed to unstick his throat. "Who--who are you?"

Naminé stopped in her tracks. She hadn't planned for Sora to actually see her. Her plan had just been to make sure Sora was awake and that he was okay. Without Roxas, the brunet would be a little off.
Stepping back, the blonde gathered herself and gave Sora a soft, almost sad smile. "I told you that you'd forget me."

Sora's eyes widened in confusion. What had she said? That he'd--forget? He shook his head in confusion, causing his hair to whip about. This girl must be crazy. "What?" he said, "I'm sorry, but I've never met you before."

Naminé's smile faded slightly. She knew this would happen when she put Sora into hibernation. "We made a promise to see each other again. even though you'd forget everything that happened."
She stepped towards him, one hand curled over her chest, where her heart would have been had she been whole, the other extended towards Sora. "I had hoped that you'd at least remember just a bit..."
For a split second, Naminé could have sworn she had seen Roxas standing where Sora was. Though she knew the other Nobody was safely back into the World that Never Was, the way his and Sora's eyes were exactly the same reminded her greatly of the Nobody she was particularly drawn to; much like how she was certain that she reminded Sora greatly of Kairi, the girl he had risked so much to save.
"My name is Naminé, Sora," she said. "I'm glad we got to meet again."

Namine... It was strange, but the name had a very nice ring to it. It sounded pleasant to Sora, like a familiar tune from long ago. Her name had a nice ring, but it also rang of a deep emptiness. Sora shook himself mentally. No time to be thinking about poetry. He reached out and gripped her hand, firmly shaking it. For an instant the frail, small feel of her hand gave him a powerful impression of how Kairi's hand had been shaped. How he had worried about hurting that small hand whenever he had gripped Kairi's. He let go quickly, hoping he hadn't hurt her in his tight grip. "Well, Namine, I'm sorry I can't remember. If we really have met before. So for me, it's like my first time." He grinned with his usual cheesy smile. "So how about we start over? My name's Sora, though you seem to already know that. Nice to meetcha." Sora put his hands behind his head and stretched back comfortably. "So... where are we?"

"It's alirght, Sora," Naminé said. "I knew you would forget. And I'm sorry for everything."
Her eyes took on a sad expression. She hadn't liked following Marluxia's orders to destroy Sora's memories; putting the boy into hibernation seemed like the best way to undo the damage she had done. It had taken her so long, a year, in fact. She hoped it wouldn't affect him badly to have been asleep for so long.
"It's nice to meet you, again," Naminé told him. "Although I sound like a bit of a broken record, I'm sure." A soft smile crossed her lips. "This is Twilight Town. Your new journey begins here."
It would be a hard journey for Sora, harder than it should be, since he wasn't complete. Without Roxas, Sora's strength was weakened; split in half, one part in each boy. Naminé could only hope that Sora would be able to pull through the hardships that lay ahead for him.
Was she being selfish? To have helped Roxas escape his digital prison, she had taken away a part of Sora that would be crucial to him later on. All she had wanted was for Roxas to be free from DiZ's clutches, to stop him from being a pawn in the broken man's revenge. She had helped him, but to what cost?

Sora smiled in a bemused sort of way. He liked this girl, even if she seemed a little strange. He Also liked the sound of this place. Twilight Town... again, the sound of it was familiar to him, and very pleasant. "Ok!" He said. "So I've got yet another journey ahead of me. Well, as long as I can find Riku and get back to Kairi, no problem." He summoned his Keyblade, and to his delight he found it as easy as ever to call. It appeared in his hand, and the cold metal was comforting to the touch. He slung it to his side, and grinned once more at Namine. "Thanks a lot for your help," he said, "but one more thing--do you know where Donald and Goofy are? A big talking duck and a--well, a Goof..." He faded off, feeling rather embarassed.

Naminé hesitated when Sora mentioned Riku, visibly upset, even if she couldn't really be upset. She wondered if she should tell him what had happened to his friend over the last yearm all the events that had lead up to the drastic changes that Riku had undergone, all for Sora's sake. Would Sora be sad to know his friend no longer existed as he had known him? No doubt of it. She didn't want to have to tell him the truth.
As for Kairi...
So far as Naminé knew, Kairi was fine. The red-haired girl was safe on the islands, back with her family and friends. Now that Sora had awoken, the grip Naminé had on the girl's memories of Sora was broken. It was time for everyone to remember.
"Hm?" Naminé looked up at Sora's question. "Oh! Yes. They're just downstairs." She paused. Something wasn't quite right. "I was so sure they would have woken up by now."

Sora noticed the pause in Namine's voice. He looked at her curiously, wondering what was wrong. Then he shook his head--it was probably nothing. "Well, if they're up, then let's go find them." Sora grabbed Namine's hand--the hand that so like Kairi's--and led her to the door. "I'm sure they would love to meet you." Then Sora let the hand go as he stood in the doorway. He looked over his shoulder at the girl and the white room. "Will you come with me?"

Naminé hesitated again. She would go with Sora, except she really wanted to go make sure Axel was taking care of Roxas. She had already done here what she had intended to do; to make sure that Sora awoke without any difficulties. Without his other half, the Keybearer might have had troubles. Then again, he was always so strong and he hadn't had any problems fighting without Roxas in Castle Oblivion.
"Sora, I--" she broke off. She would have to chose her words carefully. "I want to come with you, but I don't belong here. I'd only be in the way."
It was like having to tell Sora everything all over again. It had been hard for her to tell him that the memories he had in Castle Oblivion were all false and that she wasn't the one he was looking for. Even now, as Sora didn't have any memory of the past year and the events at the castle, she still had difficulties telling him things.
"You want to find Riku, don't you?" she asked. "You want to go home to her and be with your friends again, right? If I go with you, that may not happen."
Her eyes took on a bit of sadness. "You don't want to break your promise to Kairi..." She gave him a soft smile. "And you don't remember your promise to me."

A promise?
Sora remembered his promise to Kairi. That came as easily as breathing. But Namine...? What strange things memories are. Some can come to us so powerfully, so profoundly, yet there are others that run deeper. Deep as light in the midst of a sea of darkness. Searching for those memories was painful and nearly impossible.
But they aren't gone. Sora was sure of that. If he made a promise to Namine, he would have to keep that, too.
And then there was Kairi. Namine had said he may never see her again if she were to go with him. That thought was too painful to accept.
"Namine... what's going on?"

Namine shook her head lightly. She shouldn't have said anything, knowing that Sora would want answers to the questions which would arise in his mind; answers which she couldn't give without having to explain her part in what happened. She didn't want to tell him, afraid that if she did, he would hate her.
"It doesn't matter," she said. "You kept your promise, regardless. You and I have met again, that's all that matters to me."
She was putting the brunet in danger, just by being around him. Sora had a destiny to fulfill and if she remained around him, the Organization might find him and...well, she didn't know why they would need Sora if they had Roxas back.
Roxas...
Namine had promised to join Roxas in the World that Never Was. He was probably waiting for her. She bit her lip, a little worried about leaving Sora with nothing. So, she pulled out the fake charm that had played such a large part in the events at Castle Oblivion.
"Sora, I can't stay here," she said. "But I know we'll see each other again. It's unevitable, with our destinies so closely entertwined."
She clung to the charm for a moment. "When you find Riku and Kairi, tell them both that I'm sorry."

Sora was too confused to speak. Yet through his fogginess, he was reassured that he had kept his promise... inadvertantly as it had been.
So Namine was saying goobye... It hurt Sora to hear this. His heart was in pain, but if her mind was made up...
"Ok, then. I'm glad we'll see eachother again. I'm looking forward to it, Namine. Just make sure it isn't too long. I hate saying goodbye to friends." Sora grasped her hand. He grinned once more into her eyes.
"I'm sure Riku and Kairi will be delighted to hear from you."

Naminé stepped forward, hesitantly, before she put her arms around Sora. "I'm sorry, Sora. For everything."
She had apologized before, but Sora wouldn't remember. She knew he wouldn't know what she was apologizing for this time. It made her feel better, at least. She held onto Sora for a moment before letting go and slipping her charm into his hands.
"Take this with you," she said. "It's my lucky charm."
Kairi had done the same. Naminé knew that from his memories, the same ones she had been forced to pick apart, change, and put back together again, replacing Kairi with herself. She knew that the charm she gave him probably wouldn't be treated with the same care as the one Sora had received from the pretty little red-head she was connected to, but if it would bring any luck to the Keybearer in his journey, it would make her happy.
"When we next see each other, it might not be under the best circumstances," she said, a sad smile on her face. "But I'll be happy to see you again."
She didn't tell him that Kairi wouldn't understand who Naminé was and why she was apologizing. To tell Sora the truth would probably lead to him demanding she come with him, instead of venturing to the other world to be with Roxas.
Riku on the other hand, knew about her. She wondered vaguely if the silver-haired teen would come for her, to reunite her with Kairi and...
...end her own existence.

Sora felt odd, saying goodbye to this strange girl. It was almost as painful as saying farewell to Kairi, back when the Island was restored. He took the charm, surprised by how light the shells were.
"Well then... Goodbye, Namine."
He had to get out of there. He shook his head slightly, and passed by Namine to the door. He left without a backward glance.
Once on the other side of the door, Sora leaned against the nearest wall and exhaled deeply. That charm, thrust on him like that... he looked at the shells in his hand. Yes, they were just like Kairi's. They even had the little picture of him Kairi had drawn. But...
Sora reached into his left pocket, surprised at how small it seemed. But he finally managed to force his hand into his too-small opening and pulled out the identical shells. They were the same...
Shaking his head forcefully, thankful that his headache was easing up, Sora took off down the hall. He needed to find Donald and Goofy.

Naminé gave him a soft smile as he left. Once the brunet was out of sight, she turned around and held out her hand to open a dark portal. With the knowledge that Sora had awoken with little trouble putting her mind to ease, she could finally leave and join Roxas in the World that Never Was.
Before she stepped into the portal, she turned back to the door. "Good luck, Sora. You'll need it."
With those words, she disappeared into the darkness, her pale figure fading as she stepped through.
[ooc; and that's a good place to end! <3]
